Prior to October 1, 2020 the city of Philadelphia only required properties with children under the age of 7 to be tested for lead. A new regulation has been enacted, which requires owners to do lead testing on all rental properties. Now rentals must be certified as lead safe or lead free. The testing is required for the following instances:
A landlord starts or renews a lease
A landlord renews the rental license
